Samantha Kwan

Samantha Kwan is a versatile producer and editor currently based in Melbourne. Having lived in two multicultural cities, Hong Kong and Melbourne, she is especially passionate about bringing more diverse representation on screens. With an eye for visually-compelling imagery and a do-it-yourself mentality, she seeks to help others communicate their stories across borders and languages.

In 2020 she had a short-term opportunity to work alongside Sue Maslin in the distribution of Brazen Hussies and has completed a Script Supervisor attachment on SBS’s New Gold Mountain series. She is also a recipient of Film Victoria’s Key Talent Placement and undertook a 12-month producer attachment at Film Art Media. She is currently working as a Producer’s Assistant across projects like The Little Qipao Shop, The Search For The Palace Letters, and Bruny etc.

Her work ranges across music videos, short films and social media ads, including clients like HSBC HK, Huawei, Netflix and Nike Sports. The latest project she produced and edited, Mother Tongue, took home “Best Next Gen Film” at 2021 Melbourne’s Women in Film Festival and “Best Emerging” at 2021 Setting Sun Film Festival.
