The wait is nearly over for American fans of The Dressmaker; starring Kate Winslet, Liam Hemsworth, Judy Davis, and Hugo Weaving, the film has sold to Amazon Studios, as reported by Variety earlier this week.
Directed by Jocelyn Moorhouse and produced by Sue Maslin, the adaptation of Rosalie Ham’s best-selling novel premiered at last year’s Toronto International Film Festival. The film was a critical and box office hit in Australia grossing in excess of $20 million and it has also sold into 36 territories internationally.
Amazon Studios will release the film theatrically in the U.S. in the second half of 2016.
