Archdaily.com, the world’s most visited architecture website, has listed Film Art Media’s award-winning doco The Edge of The Possible as number one in its collection of 40 best architecture docos for 2014.
It is a real accolade for the movie which was first made in 1998 but re-released on DVD most recently to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the opening of the Sydney Opera House in 2013. The new release contains over an hour of new interview footage of Jørn Utzon, the famous architect of the building, and other highlights including a Super8 film taken during construction in 1966 and helicopter shots of the final building.

The co-author and director of the film, Daryl Dellora, said he was enormously proud of the movie. It screened at the Museum of Sydney last year to a large and enthusiastic crowd and it seems audiences never lose interest in it. Daryl’s book about Utzon, the Penguin Special Utzon and the Sydney Opera House is currently available from all good bookshops, the Sydney Opera House Shop, the Museum of Sydney gift shop and Penguin on-line for just $10.
